After four consecutive games away from home and not that impressive record, players of Sheffield United replied with much better performance and a 2:0 victory in front of own fans against Burton last Tuesday evening.

The game was more difficult than what the final result says, as the players of Burton looked threatening too, especially in the first halftime when they probably deserved to score more, but the hosts scored against the flow of the game via Stevens in 29th minute.

However, they outplayed the opponent in second as the guests looked like they stood without energy, with Sheffield United sealing the victory via Brooks in 64th minute. The team is now two points behind sixth placed Middlesbrough and surely needs to get a victory here only.

Home side should continue in 4-4-2 formation with Brooks and Sharp as forwards. Right back Kieron Freeman (8/0) and midfielder Paul Coutts (16/1) are injured, while doubtful is forward Leon Clarke (31/15) after a minor calf problem but could be involved if needed.

Nottingham Forest comes from yet another goalless game, as the side welcomed Derby County on Sunday afternoon and managed to take a point in a game where they were limited to a very defensive role. Nothing except some distance shots they tried, while Derby wasn’t that concrete either, but still probably have deserved more overall.

However, the guests stood playing with a man less in last ten minutes but the players of Nottingham didn’t manage to be more concrete. This way, they remained undefeated for six matches in Championship now, having two victories and four draws, as the side stands at sixteenth position in the league.

They are having now fifteen points more than relegating placed sides and heading towards ending of the season without such worries.

Guests are set to continue in 4-2-3-1 formation with Brereton as central striker, but also with the help of Lolley, Tomlin and Cash as offensive midfielders. They continue to miss left defender Chris Cohen (1/0), central back Jack Hobbs (1/0), midfielder David Vaughan (14/0) all three due injuries. Offensive midfielder Barrie McKay (24/5) is doubtful.

  • Sheff Utd have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 3 matches against Nottingham Forest.
  • Sheff Utd are undefeated in their last 6 home matches against Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham is far away from a poor side and the team is in a decent form, however I see competitive motive should play pretty much the biggest role. Sheffield United is in a must win situation in order to keep the chances of reaching play-off and should get the victory easy or difficult against a side that weren’t that consistent this season on the road.
