Fortuna Dusseldorf is really doing fine so far in the season and after ten rounds played they do stand out as one of the hottest favorites to win the promotion. Currently, the side comes into this match on a streak of four consecutive victories, being three points above second placed Holstein Kiel and probably more importantly, six points more than play-off placed Nurnberg.

They come from a 2:0 victory against Arminia Bielefeld last weekend, taking the game very seriously from the first minute and deserving the victory fully. They took the lead in 35th minute via Raman, being way better even once they had the lead, doubling it up in 76th minute with a goal from Neuhaus. They have four consecutive victories at home too and surely that the aim is another one this time.

Hosts miss goalkeeper Michael Rensing (3/0) and should have no other important absentees for the next game.

Darmstadt, on the other side, comes into this game being in a pretty poor form after a decent start, as the side comes from fourth consecutive match without a victory and second consecutive loss. It was at home against Nurnberg probably in one of more attractive matches so far in the season, but the side still suffered 3:4 defeat against pretty much more concentrated in attack visitors.

Overall, it looked like pretty equal game from the opponents, but the visiting side simply used their chanced a bit better and were more concrete in attack. Hosts did took the lead in sixth minute via Stark, but the guests managed to level up in 23rd via Teuchert, while they entered better the second halftime and had two goals lead via Ishak and Teuchert again, while the hosts managed to score twice more in last twenty minutes (an own goal and a goal from Platte), but the guests scored in between once again in 74th via Leibold. The side is now at eight posiiton, but still having only four less than play-off placed Nurnberg.

Guests continue to miss goalkeeper Daniel Neuer Fernandes (9/0) for another week, while injured are also central defender Peter Niemeyer (1/0), right back Sandro Sirigu (8/0), defensive midfielder Wilson Kamavuaka (8/1) and midfielder Tobias Kempe (10/3) as the game comes too soon for him.

There’s no question that the players of Dusseldorf are in way better momentum than the opponents now. Quality difference is pretty close to equal one, but the visitors aren’t showing their best whole season long for now. Hosts should prevail easy or hard.
