Prediction : Borussia M’gladbach Win at 2.08 with MarathonBet
Borussia M’gladbach have been playing much better since a managerial change saw coach Dieter Hecking take over during the winter break. Hecking has guided Gladbach up to 6th in the form table for the second half of the season (W7 D1 L5), something that visitors Eintracht Frankfurt have been unable to replicate. Frankfurt’s performances have gone a bit downhill since they sat 6th in the Bundesliga over Christmas, with the Eagles’ progression through to the semi-finals of the DFB Pokal being the only positive among an otherwise awful run of form – Frankfurt are second from bottom in the form table following the winter break (W3 D3 L7).

Borussia Monchengladbach are the favourites at 19/20 with bet365, and we feel that backing the hosts is the way to go here for the following reasons: first and foremost, Gladbach’s balanced and aggressive approach has seen them put some strong performances against two strong sides in recent weeks – an unlucky 3-2 defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund last weekend and in their 5-3 defeat away to Hoffenheim the match prior. Notably, over their 20 matches under Hecking across all competitions W10 D4 L6, Gladbach have been consistent when it comes to making the most of their “favourable” matches – Gladbach’s 6 defeats have all been against better or more in-form sides, such as, Dortmund, Hoffenheim, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig etc. Meanwhile, Frankfurt’s recent struggles have seen them lose seven of their last twelve matches across all competitions (W2 D3 L7), even losing to a team as weak as relegation strugglers FC Ingolstadt on their own turf. Not to mention that Frankfurt have lost 60% of their away matches this season, including all of their last five on the road in the Bundesliga.

Regarding a correct score bet, Gladbach’s form in front of goal has been stellar – at least two goals scored in each of their last three Bundesliga outings – while the hosts also boast a 1.5 goals scored per match average at home. Frankfurt have had a really hard time finding the back of the net on the road – the Eagles have failed to score in 60% of their away matches this season – but winger Marco Fabian has made a timely return to form – a goal in each of their last three outings – which could help see the visitors take away a consolation goal this time around (both teams to score available at 10/11 with bet365). As such, we feel Borussia M’gladbach should clinch it and a 2-1 home win at 15/2 is about right here.
