Aston Villa managed to pull out another three pointer last time out, as the side visited Sunderland and took convincing 3:0 win on the road to Sunderland last Tuesday evening. They had a great ending of the first halftime, scoring two goals inside last eleven minutes, taking the lead via Grabban in 34th and doubling it up via Chester.

Players of Sunderland wanted to respond and actually did well, but the goals were missing, while the Villans sealead their victory in 66th minute via na own goal, in a game that might have been finished bit differently on some other day.

This was second consecutive victory on the road, as they previously won away to Sheffield Wednesday, now being at third position at the table with four points less than directly promoted placed Cardiff and surely remaining in a must win situation for this one.

Home team should be playing in a version of 4-4-1-1 formation with Grabban set as central striker, plus Grealish as offensive midfielder behind him. Central back Christopher Samba (10/1) is injured, as well as defensive midfielder Glenn Whelan (28/1) and forward Jonathan Kodjija (8/1). Left back Alan Hutton is doubtful for this one for now.

After three consecutive matches without a victory, two draws and a defeat away to Fulham, players of Wolves finally responded with a better performance and took an important three pointer away from home against Leeds in a 3:0 victory last Wednesday evening. They were better from the start of the match, simply knowing better what to do with the ball to their feet, as the visitors dominated the first halftime completely and have taken deservedly the double lead with goals from Saiss and Boly.

Things got much calmer in the second halftime, with the visitors being satisfied with their lead, but still managed to net one more goal, in 74th minute via Afobe in overall quite an equal second part of the game.

The side keeps the first position for now, having six points more than second placed Cardiff but probably more importantly for them for now, is that they didn’t enter even poorer period and avoided fourth consecutive game without a victory.

Guests should probably be lined up in a version of 3-4-3 formation with Jota, Afobe and Cavaleiro as forwards. Offensive midfielder Ruben Neves is back into the team following suspension, while the side should have no fresh injury concerns, with forward Bright Enobakhare (19/1) being sidelined for a few weeks already and slowly coming off from injury.

  • Aston Villa have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 3 home matches against Wolves.

This match might not be goal festival, but I do strongly believe that both sides have what it takes to score a goal at least once. Wolves has improved finally and looked very strong with the ball to their feet last time out surely remaining at least slight favorite here, however the Villans are coming from two victories on the road, with boosted morale and surely in need of points, especially in front of own fans.
