Maritimo couldn’t do much more last time out, as the side visited Benfica on Saturday evening and suffered 5:0 defeat against far more superior side in previous Primeira Liga game.

Their opponents were determined to seal the victory as soon as possible and have entered the game in the best possible way, scoring four goals inside the first halftime (three goals from Jonas and one from Grimaldo).

Guests even stood playing with a man less when midfielder Gamboa got red carded in 54th minute, but the home team lowered down the tempo in the second part already being satisfied with their lead, as they only confirmed the victory with a goal from Zivkovic ten minutes before the end. The side now stands at eight position at the table, having four points less than fifth placed Rio Ave, position that might lead to Europa League later on.

Offensive midfielder Edgar Costa (18/2) is still injured, while suspended for this match remain central back Pablo Santos (12/1) and defensive midfielder Joao Gamboa (23/1).

Setubal, on the other side, managed to secure their third consecutive three points at home, as the side narrowly overpowered Rio Ave last Sunday afternoon with a 1:0 result. Only goal was scored back in 48th minute thanks to Andre Pereira, in a game which had almost completly uninteresting first half.

Second part was better, with the visitors trying to respond back, but without many chances, while all they did was being more vulnerable on counter attacks. Thanks to three victories (all at home) in last five rounds, players of Setubal have managed to escape from the relegation zone for the moment, being currently at fourteenth position with three points more than rock bottom placed duo from Estoril and Ferreira.

Central defender Jose Semedo (10/0) is suspended, while injured remains offensive player Yannick Djalo who didn’t play so far.

Maritimo looks more than decently in front of own fans and no doubt that they will try to recover after big margin defeat against Benfica. Setubal, on the other side, is doing very well in recent home matches, however their performances on the road are far below convincing. Home team surely has decent individual quality advantage and should be able to get the victory here easy or hard, with quite valuable odds too.
