Parma – Cittadella

13th April 2018   ·   0 Comments

Seems that Parma got their form right when it was needed the most, since the side comes from their fourth consecutive three pointer. Last Saturday afternoon they managed to overpower Frosinone with a 2:0 result thanks to great first halftime.

As it could be understood, they entered the game well in overall very open first halftime. Hosts even missed the penalty kick at first, but then took the lead in 20th minute via Di Gaudio, while the same player doubled up the lead in 37th minute.

Frosinone tried to react in second, having bit more of the ball possession but weren’t that threatening as expected. As said it was fourth victory for Parma, third in a row at home as the side now stands at fourth position. They are only two points behind second and direct promotional placed Palermo and surely won’t give up on that fight easily.

Home team will miss defender Di Cesare (17/2), midfielders Da Cruz (6/0), Scavone (25/3), Scozzarella (23/0) and forward Ceravolo (13/4). Doubtful are midfielder Dezi (28/1) and forward Siligardi (15/1).

Cittadella, on the other side, comes from a very difficult 5:1 defeat away from home against Ternana. It was a huge defeat against rock bottom placed side and surely that their promotional bid is now seriously hurt.

It was their third consecutive defeat and fifth game without a victory, as the side needs to revert the things around as soon as possible. Even though they opened the game well in fifteenth minute via penalty kick taken by Iori, it didn’t help them much as the response from the home team was great.

Ternana reverted the scoreline in next ten minutes via Montalto and Signori. However, guests stood playing with a man less in 36th when Scaglia got red carded making really nervous the rest of the match for the visiting side. At the start of second they stood playing with nine as Benedetti got red carded too, while the hosts outplayed them completely in the remaining of the match.

Tremolada scored three goals for completely deserved victory for Ternana as everyone around Cittadella now has many questions to answer about. With eight rounds till the end, they are now at eight position having eight points less than direct placed Palermo, but also just two less than out of play-off zone Carpi.

Guests are set to play without suspended defensive duo Benedetti (22/0) and Scaglia (21/0). Important defender Salvi (28/4) is sidelined with injury, same as midfielders Caccin (6/0) and Siega (10/2), also forward Iunco (2/0).

  • Parma has four victories in a row.

Parma looks very strong at home at the moment, while Cittadella remains a decent side but have over performed a bit in the first part of the season. It seems that the reality is catching them up now and with three important defenders out, I can’t see them surviving here. Home team has their absentees as well, however value remains with their side – at least in my eyes.
