Peterborough – Bristol Rovers

23rd March 2018   ·   0 Comments

League One action on the weekend for me in a game that will be played at the ABAX Stadium, Peterborough and kick off at 15:00 UK time. The game will be played between Peterborough United and Bristol Rovers.

The home side have recently got a new manager in Steve Evans. He has done a good job in his previous roles at other clubs, his latest club was Mansfield Town who he guided into a great position in League Two, however, the opportunity to manage Peterborough and the potential to get back to Championship football (if Peterborough go up) was too much for him to turn down.

Peterborough are only a point behind the play off spots, however, they do have a game in hand over 5th placed Scunthorpe who are only 2 points in-front of Peterborough. So they know a win could see them sneak into the play off places. Many fans would have expected that Peterborough would be up there come the end of the season and they have not disappointed.

Peterborough do head into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat away at Oxford. However, prior to that they won 3 games in a row, 2 of these games were at home and both ended with over 2.5 goals. Peterborough have scored 59 goals and conceded 47 in their 37 league fixtures this season.

At home Peterborough do seem to concede a goal or two, especially against decent sides. They are also capable of getting goals themselves on home soil. the leagues top scorer Jack Marriott seems in good form still as he bagged against Oxford.

The away side also head into this game chasing a play off place. Bristol City are in 10th in the league and are just 7 points away from a play off place. They might have left it too late with Charlton and Portsmouth both above them in the hunt for a place also.

They also head into the game on the back of a defeat vs Plymouth which ended 3-2 in favour of the home side, so again goals galore!

Bristol Rovers have scored 53 goals and conceded 56 goals in their 37 league games. I expect a decent game here and think that there will definitely be goals in this one.

The last 5 games between these two sides have all seen over 2.5 goals. I’ll be backing over 2.5 goals in this one at a price of 1.83 with Marathonbet. Good luck all.
