Osasuna – Zaragoza

17th March 2018   ·   0 Comments

Osasuna managed to take a point only in a goalless game last time out when the side visited Albacete last Sunday afternoon without making many impressive things in attack.

The game itself wasn’t very interesting, with the hosts maybe looking just a bit better in first halftime but they stood playing with a man less when their defender Saveljich got red carded in 43rd minute.

Players of Osasuna had complete superiority on the field in the second halftime with wast majority of ball possession, but with just a couple of real chances so the scoreline didn’t change. The team remained at sixth position after this point taken, having just a point more than out of play-off placed sides and that’s what makes this game so important for them.

In front of own fans, they are having just 6-7-2 record and it’s something they need to improve badly in order to stay competitive for play-off positions. Forward Xisco (21/6) is sidelined for couple of months already due injury.

Zaragoza seems to be in a really good form now, having a run of seven undefeated matches more importantly coming from their fifth consecutive victory last weekend.

They didn’t have that difficult game as the side welcomed Lorca, but did the job in a great manner – opening the game with two goals inside first twenty minutes thanks to Papunashvili and Iglesias as they dominated fully in first halftime.

They have lowered the tempo in second but remaining better as Noguera reduced the deficit in 56th minute, while Perona re-installed two goals lead just three minutes later. Guests stood playing with a man less in last phase, but the victory for Zaragoza anyway wasn’t that questionable.

The team is now at seventh position, going in a really good direction at the moment and now having just a point less than play-off placed today’s opponent. Central midfielder Javi Ros (17/1) is injured for this one being sidelined for some time already.

  • Zaragoza are undefeated in their last 7 matches.

This game comes as a very important one for both teams and I can’t see it being defensive one. Zaragoza is in a great momentum now and will surely try to exploit it, while Osasuna anyway remains with much more open approach in front of own fans. Both teams to score seems to be most logical choice with very valuable odds this time.
